COOWNERSHIPS

Co-owner home means opening your home and your heart to a dog who will still be part of our breeding program. The dog lives with you as a normal family dog, but Corgiroonies retains the breeding rights for an agreed period of time. The purpose is to ensure the dog enjoys a safe and active family life, while we as breeders can preserve and carry forward valuable lines within the breed.

Why?

We place great emphasis on ensuring that our dogs have the best everyday life — with time, attention, and meaningful experiences. A co-own arrangement allows us to continue developing our breeding program without having too many dogs living in our home at the same time.

For you as the guardian family, it is an opportunity to welcome a carefully selected Welsh Corgi Cardigan who is healthy, well-balanced, and chosen for breeding due to her qualities — both physically and mentally.

What does it involve?

As a co-own home, you handle the dog’s daily care: training, feeding, exercise, love, and everyday life. We expect the dog to live as a cherished family member and be a natural part of your home.

Depending on whether the dog is male or female, the co-own agreement may look slightly different:

  • Bitches will typically stay with us during mating, pregnancy, and the birth and raising of the puppies.
  • Males are only borrowed for short periods in connection with matings.

In addition, the dog may participate in ring training or dog shows together with us — either because we wish to show the dog as part of our breeding program, or because the co-owner would like to try their hand at the world of dog shows themselves.

We will, of course, support you every step of the way — whether you wish to be actively involved yourselves or prefer to leave that part to us.

What do we offer as breeders?

In a co-ownership, you become an important part of our small kennel – and we place great value on cooperation, trust, and good communication.

We offer:

  • A close relationship and ongoing contact.
  • Coverage of all breeding-related expenses (veterinary costs when breed related, tests, shows, etc.)
  • Help, guidance, and support throughout the dog’s entire life.
  • The option to fully take over ownership of the dog once the guardian-home agreement has ended.

How does it work?

When we look for a co-ownership, it is important for us to find the right match – both for you and for the dog.

The process typically looks like this:

1. You contact us and tell us a bit about yourselves and your daily life.

2. We meet (or facetime) and see if the chemistry is right.

3. If everything feels right, we prepare a clear and transparent co-ownership agreement that ensures security for both parties.

4. The dog moves in with you – with our support and ongoing contact throughout.

Interested?

Having a co-ownership can be a special experience: you get the joy of a wonderful family dog while becoming part of a dedicated breeding program. It requires responsibility, close cooperation, and love – but it also offers a unique connection and insight into the breed and the breeding work.

If you think this might be something for you, you are always welcome to contact us for a non-binding conversation.
